We represent large and small taxpayers with respect to property tax assessment issues in connection with commercial, industrial and high-rise residential properties throughout the state of Illinois (with a heavy concentration in Chicago, Cook County and the surrounding “collar counties”).
Property Tax Is Our Only Business
Our founders have extensive experience as attorneys in the field of property taxation. As Assistant State’s Attorneys early in their careers, they gained substantial experience representing the Cook County Assessor in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Thereafter, as partners in a large Chicago law firm, they represented clients with respect to property assessment and taxation issues.
Since 1986, when Sarnoff & Baccash was established, the law firm has successfully represented clients throughout the nation. The firm has secured substantial real estate tax savings for their clients in connection with a wide variety of properties, from typical commercial and industrial facilities to more complex and unique types of real estate, often referred to as special-purpose and/or limited-market properties. The firm has also secured, and maintained, property tax incentives (such as Cook County Class 6b, Class 7, Class 8 and Class 9 incentives) on newly constructed, substantially rehabilitated or previously abandoned property, which have reduced the level of assessment for the ten to twelve year term of the incentive, resulting in substantial tax savings.
